Informations générales

L’Unité en quelques mots

The “Hematopoietic stem cells and the development of myeloid malignancies” project will group two teams leaded by Françoise Porteu and Isabelle Plo and Hana Raslova and will be headed by Françoise Porteu. The research project of this unit will be dedicated to fundamental and pathological aspects hematopoietic stem cell function and differentiation with the aim to understand how hematopoietic stem cell changes occurring throughout life contribute to the development of myeloid blood disorders, with a particular focus on myeloproliferative neoplasms.

The projects of both teams are the continuation of those developed in the existing teams of Eric Solary/F porteu and H Raslova with little restructuration. The teams are currently part of the U1170 INSERM unit headed by Olivier Bernard comprising a total of 6 teams (see below) which will be spit in two parts starting 2020. The unit will remain located at Gustave Roussy.

Given this restructuration, the unit environment and the global self-assessment presented will be that of U1170. We will then outline separately the scientific strategy and global organization of the unit proposed for the next contract, as well as the specific self-assessments and perpectives of the two teams that will compose it starting 2020.
